Wakatobi Dive Resort
- March to November
- Unique Marine Creatures
The Comoros islands experience two seasons that do not differ too much from each other, a warmer and rainier season from November to May and a fresher and drier one from June to October.
All year-round temperatures vary between 25°C and 32°C. During the rainy season rains may appear but generally do not last more than an hour. February is generally rainier.
Free internet connection, only for clients, is available in the restaurant area.
You can either travel by plane or boat from Moroni.

We had a lot of concerns in particular about the weather, but the rainy season is absolutely fine.
The resort is amazingly located, the beach is the only one in the Comoros that meets all expectations and you can feel at home, If you consider that you go swimming in the ocean in the morning and several large turtles swim around you, or you swim 100 metres from the shore over a coral reef and feel as if you are in the middle of a nature film then could there be a better contact with nature.
Our hearts were captured by the lemurs who came at the same time every day to feed with bananas. The nature and colours are amazing. The accommodation itself is western standard, helpful, friendly staff taking care of guests. The beach as well as the whole resort are guarded, you can feel safe. The cuisine very good, great fish that you can eat prepared in different ways.
Absolutely worth it.

extremely nice location, calm, beatiful, but not seperated from the village and local people who are friendly and easy going.

This place is very special! The journey to get there is an amazing experience in itself. We recommend dealing directly with Hans as we found him to be very trustworthy and super helpful which is important when one considers the logistics of visiting Moheli. It's important to allow additional days in your literary as transport to and from Grande Comore can be affected by the weather. We took their boat to the island and flew back. We stayed 1 night in Grand Comore on our way there and 2 on the way home.
We stayed for 10 nights in the Lodge (Ocean Suite) and were very pleased with its position and standard. The staff were great and the food was delicious, mostly fish yet cleverly varied dishes, 3 courses for dinner with good reasonably priced wine.
We went on nearly all of the amazing excursions/experiences offered by Laka Lodge: Snorkeling with Humpbacked Whales (took 3 attempts); Watching turtles laying eggs and baby turtles scampering to the sea; Double waterfall and forest walk; Livingstone Bats and the Traditional fishing trip (this was a great experience to have with a local fisherman and we caught 16 fish between us. I felt we both had a fun time even though neither of us could speak each others language!) We recommend taking walks through the village. Dressing respectfully including head cover for ladies encourages friendly interaction.
Laka Lodge is a fabulous hotel in a wonderful destination.

We loved the wonderful location, the beauty of the site and the kindness of the Mohelians.
However, the quality of the lodge’s vehicle wasn’t very good. The engine was so old that required many stops to put water in the radiator….
The prices a little excessive not to say prohibitive for travel across the island.
